Water Wells
The violence and the discrimination in Myanmar throughout 2020 pushed the Rohingya community to flee partially across the border to Bangladesh. It is estimated that over 655,000 Rohingya refugees currently live in Bangladesh — but with the limited space, it is a challenge to maintain personal hygiene practices. Muslim Aid USA installed a water well to reduce this issue for families living in camps.
This project allowed for at least 1,000 refugee HHs to access clean drinking water from the water well, further preventing waterborne illnesses.
