This IT technician will assist in all aspects of the association’s work, and the ideal candidate will be a proactive, donor focused, team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Job Description:
The IT Technician at Muslim Aid USA will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization’s technology infrastructure. This position involves providing technical support, maintaining hardware and software systems, and implementing IT solutions to support the organization’s goals. The IT Technician will work closely with staff members to troubleshoot issues, optimize systems, and enhance efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Support:
    • Provide technical assistance and support to staff members for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Hardware and Software Maintenance:
    • Perform regular maintenance and updates on computers, printers, servers, and other IT equipment.
    • Install, configure, and update software applications as needed.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems through regular updates and patches.
  • Network Administration:
    • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
    • Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Implement security measures to protect the organization’s data and networkresources.
    • Process mail donation and correspondence
    • Data entry of incoming donations
  • IT Infrastructure Management:
  • Manage IT assets inventory and maintain accurate records of hardware and software licenses.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for procurement and maintenance of IT equipment and services.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
  • User Training and Education:
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on IT best practices, security protocols, and software usage.
  • Promote awareness of cybersecurity threats and educate users on preventive measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience in IT support and system administration.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Familiarity with Windows and/or MacOS operating systems.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, security principles, and best practices.
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Certification(s) such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) is a plus.

This position is required to be in the McLean, VA office Monday through Friday 9 AM – 5 PM. During busy seasons, employees may be asked to perform overtime work and work during weekends, i.e. Ramadan, Qurbani, Winter campaigns.
