Muslim Aid presents the Bosnia Volunteer programme. An opportunity for volunteers to participate in a 10-day programme supporting Muslim Aid beneficiaries and the March of Peace. Participant will have the unique opportunity of staying with host families in Bosnia; immersing into the local culture and experiencing their everyday lives.

To be accepted on this programme all participants are required to fundraise a minimum of $1500.

There are two options of the Volunteer programme to choose from:

Participants in the advanced programme will take part in the March of Peace where they will partake in a three-day hike alongside hundreds of others joining from around the world – walking in the footsteps of the refugees.

Participant in the Intermediate programme will only take part in the last day of the March of Peace, but will have the opportunity to visit some of the children that are supported by Muslim Aid’s Rainbow Family Programme.

About the Bosnia Peace March

The March of Peace is a three-day walk from Nezuk, near Tuzla, to Srebrenica. It takes place every year in July to commemorate the victims of the 1995 genocide, with 2016 marking the 21st anniversary.

The 120km route from Nezuk follows the exact route taken by refugees of the Bosnian war as they tried to escape persecution and ends in Srebrenica – the infamous town that saw the massacre of more than 8,000 Muslim Bosnians, mainly men and boys.
